COMMUNITY SERVICE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Our commitment to providing quality, cutting edge care also extends to the general public in our communities. We’ve developed community education programs designed to prepare you for emergency situations.
CPR AND AED for the Community and Workplace CERTIFICATION/RE-CERTIFCATION
Approved by the American Heart Association, ParaBasic provides on-site training to facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals, work sites, schools and throughout the community. A 2-6 hour course that teaches lay rescuers (ie employees in the workplace, daycare, patients at high risk for cardiac death, baby-sitters, etc.) how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for the adult, child, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults, and breathing difficulties in children.
The program is divided into a choice of 3 different courses:
1. Adult
2. Adult/Child/Infant
3. Child and Infant
*Re-certification classes available - call for details
FIRST AID COURSE
We implore the use of videotaped segments to convey essential information and to strengthen recall in actual emergencies. Safety information is provided to help protect participants as FIRST AID Providers, including the use of multiple barriers to blood and bloody substances. Information is provided on how to activate your occupational emergency care plan and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Instructors of this class demonstrate skill sequences and techniques with emphasis of key points. Ample hands-on practice with classmates and training manikins is included to develop knowledge, skill, and confidence. This course meets OSHA requirements.
BLOOD-BORNE PATHOGENS
If you have any chance of being exposed to blood or blood-borne materials while at work, you could be at risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens (disease-causing germs carried by blood). Our Blood-Borne Pathogens program will provide you with valuable information on:
• Identifying Dangerous Viruses
• How you can get infected at work
• How these diseases can enter your body
• Keeping clean and preventing infection at your center or workplace
• What to do when accidents happen
• What to do after accidents happen
• What to do if you are exposed to a blood-borne pathogen
STAND BY SERVICES
